Primary School Activity Days
We offer a unique range of primary school activity days that are designed to be fully inclusive to children of all capabilities.
What Makes our primary School Activity days Exciting and Rewarding?
- All activity days have a foundation context which runs through as a theme for the whole day providing relevance to the day for those participating, as well as friendly competition between groups.
- Every activity is fun and inclusive using a mixture of fundamental movement skills and some more technically specific skills, with a ‘character education’ outcome attached to support personal development.
- A series of challenges which require participants to be communicative, collaborative and cooperative within their groups to succeed as a team.

UNDERSTANDING THE PRIMARY SCHOOLS LANDSCAPE
The introduction of the 2019 Education Inspection Framework means schools are being asked to place a greater emphasis on a knowledge-rich curriculum. Pupils must be challenged and stretched within the schools’ curricula and each school must also be aware of the health (physical & mental) and well-being of each child.
School Activity Days FAQ
Activity from the ‘set options’ can cater for between 50 and 100 pupils, based maximum group sizes if twenty pupils and minimum group sizes of ten.
Activity days for 100+ pupils can be booked and we will design a bespoke package day based around one or more of the ‘set option’ activity days.
The Activity Days are available to year 1 through to year 6
SSG apply a rotational format to each style of activity day ensuring all the pupils get the same opportunities to experience all of the activities throughout the day. Each activity day includes five specially designed activity challenges, where participants get scores for their skills and their attitudes, ensuring to ‘be the best’ also means to ‘be your best’. It is through this focus and philosophy we can encourage the character education aspect of the provision.
All SSG activity day packages are flexible in how they are applied in delivery and we can identify exactly how best to do that through a quick and simple conversation with the school.
All activity days are fully inclusive for all pupils as activities will be adapted for different ages and abilities, including pupils with specific and challenging barriers such as SEND, confidence and weight management issues.
For us to quote a price for your activity we will need you to provide us with a few details LINK TO FORM (Enquiry form with specific questions)
SSG Activity Days run for five hours, starting at 9.30am and concluding at 2.30pm inclusive of breaks. We can offer a degree of flexibility to schools as required to fit around set lunch times etc.
The core objective of all SSG activities is a focus on the positive development and growth of each individual pupil’s character and value education, which we believe is the foundation to ensuring everyone can achieve their potential. These characteristics and values include:
- Determination
- Resilience
- Team work
- Communication
- Leadership
- Courage
- Confidence
- Organisation
- Problem Solving
- Peer Encouragement
- Decision Making
- Relationship Building
All of the SSG Activity Days are fully mobile and can be delivered on school sites, saving the school time and money on travelling & reducing the need for trip paperwork to be completed and approved. SSG are registered with and abide by all the ‘Learning Outside the Classroom’ policy guidance, ensuring you can be fully confident in what we do and how we do it.
Alternatively, if you are looking for an experience that includes taking your pupils off the school site we can host you at our activity venue in north Bedford. This wonderful woodland site is fully equipped for all of our activity days and offers an exciting environment for visitors.
