Youth football academy
SSG Celestials Football Academy runs on Saturday mornings and is made up of 3 academies catering for boys and girls from aged 3 up to 12 year olds. More information regarding our Mini’s Football Academy (under 4’s, under 5’s & under 6’s) Girls Football Academy and Inclusion Football Academy can be found below.

We have a close partnership with the local FA as well as local clubs to support a transition into organised grassroot competitive football with teams across Bedford. We partner with AFC Oakley and work with their committee in order to provide a transition pathway for our graduating under 6 players to gain a place.
mini's football academy
Our Mini’s Football Academy is split into groups of under 4’s, under 5’s and under 6’s. Our weekly sessions are designed to develop skills and understanding of ball mastery, through taking part in challenges in a fun and friendly environment. We provide the perfect introduction to match play with conditioned games suitable for the age, played each week.
During the under 4’s sessions, children will be assisted by their parents. Throughout our under 5’s and under 6’s sessions, children will work independently with their coaches to further develop their skills and begin to transition these into more independent practices and match scenarios.
Each week the players will get the opportunity to play conditioned match play and build their understanding of being part of a team.
Our season is broken in to 4 quarters and at the end of each quarter the players will get the chance to take part in a small tournament style festival to put their skills to the test. In the final quarter of the season we will work with each player and parent to identify their own individual football progression pathway, either into our partner local club AFC Oakley, or into other FA supported football structures.
Girls Football ACADEMY
Our SSG Celestials Girls Football Academy is open to girls aged 7-10 years old that are football mad and keen to learn, develop and progress in the game. Our Girls Academy will see the players developing ball mastery, linking and cohesion, game play scenario and match play across each season. Our aim is to introduce as many girls as possible to football and see them progress on in to grassroots competitive football. We partner with a range of local football clubs and can provide pathways into these groups alongside Beds FA.
Each weeks sessions build towards a well structured conditioned match to allow the players to put their practice to the test. Our seasons are broken down in to 4 quarters and each quarter works through a wide ranging training plan to encompass all elements of the game. Within the season the girls will get to take part in 2 football festivals linking in with other teams and girls groups across Bedfordshire.
Inclusion Football ACADEMY
Our Inclusion Football Academy is open to children aged 7 – 12 years old who love their football and want to play for the first time or continue playing in a non-competitive environment. Our inclusion football is perfect for children that meet 1 or more of the following criteria:
- Low confidence levels
- First experience of football
- Low self esteem
- Weight management concerns
- Low level special educational needs
- Barriers to learning and participation
Our friendly coaches are on hand to deliver a non-competitive football experience centred around fun and inclusion. All activities are tailored to best meet the needs of the individual players throughout the sessions.
Our season is broken in to 4 quarters and each quarter culminates with a non-competitive football festival made up of our own players as well as other inclusion football groups. These festivals see players from across the county mixing together to demonstrate their individual progression and development in a friendly fun and inclusive festival experience.
