Fish2Water Swimming Lessons

We launched our Fish2Water Swimming Lessons in 2003 with the aim of providing high-quality swimming lessons in small classes, operating at a ratio of 6:1 in a friendly, family-focused atmosphere for the maximum development of all children.

We offer parent & baby classes and then our independent lessons start from 3 years old.

Children will develop water confidence and safety awareness during our 30 minute weekly lessons as they progress through the Swim England Learn to swim journey.

SWimming Journey

We follow the Swim England Learn to Swim framework within our swim schools where children work towards multiple awards through achieving set criteria. Children are able to collect badges and certificates which parents are able to order easily online through Swim England’s ‘Awards Direct’ system. Parents are notified via email and the HomePortal system, each time their child achieves an award. Parents can also use the HomePortal system to track their child’s progress and see which awards they are working on. Our swim teachers update each child’s assessments on a regular basis which updates HomePortal for parents to view.

This will vary for each swimmer as it is dependent upon their previous experience, ability and age. We track each child’s assessment progress using our CoursePro system. Therefore, if a child remains in the same class or on the same award for a considerable amount of time, we will contact the parent to discuss.

Our ratio is 6 children to 1 adult.

Lifetime Membership can be purchased for a one off fee of £25 per child. This is then applied to your child’s account and provides a 10% discount off of each block booking. It can be applied to swimming lessons, gymnastics academies and birthday parties.

We ask that children arrive with their swimwear underneath their outer clothing to ensure a quick arrival and prompt start time. Please bring a towel for your child and goggles if they would like to wear these. A swimming hat must be worn at the Bedford Girls School Pool venue.

When you arrive for your taster session please speak to the poolside supervisor who will be expecting you. They will then introduce your child to their swimming teacher and take them to their class.
