Primary School Activity Days: Team Building & Problem Solving For KS1 and KS2
Our Adventure & Challenge Experiences are designed to engage and inspire students during primary school activity days, fostering teamwork and resilience.
Pupils will work together, led by our experienced instructors, to tackle a range of team building and problem solving activities outside the classroom on our Adventure & Challenge Experiences. All challenges encourage self-esteem, team work skills and coordination, and most importantly, enjoyment.
We’ll bring all of the equipment needed, so you won’t need to provide any resources or extra staffing for our outdoor and adventurous activity challenges – our team building days ensure a brilliant learning experience for your pupils, all on your own school grounds!

What Makes Our Primary School Activity Days Exciting And Rewarding?
- All activity days have a foundation context which runs through as a theme for the day, providing relevance for your primary school children, as well as friendly competition between groups.
- Every activity is fun and inclusive, using a mixture of fundamental movement skills and some more technically specific skills, with a ‘character education’ outcome attached to support personal development. We help children gain confidence, resilience and practical skills through the range of activities in our workshops.
- A series of challenges which require participants to be communicative, collaborative and cooperative within their groups to succeed as a team. Great team work is at the centre of our Adventure & Challenge Experiences programme and our team building activities aim at encouraging children of all ages and abilities to take part and develop their skills.
ACTIVITY DAYS EXTENDED OPTION
Our Activity Day Extended Option boasts a full day and evening of activities for all participants to enjoy. Schools can choose from a wide range of pre-set Activity Days or we can accommodate the school’s specific objectives and budget, and adapt our activities for a bespoke experience.
Children will feel accomplished after a memorable day of school team building, being active and trying new experiences, and will round off the day by coming together with their peers, sharing their highlights and laughing about their unforgettable moments over a hearty home-cooked meal.
After toasting marshmallows and singing songs around the camp fire, children are collected by their parents and will be ready for a good night’s sleep following their day of adventures!

School Activity Days FAQ
Activities from our set packages bronze/silver/gold are based on a maximum of 120 participants, split into group sizes of approximately 15 per group.
Activity days for 120+ pupils can be booked and we will design a bespoke package day based around one or more of the package options.
Primary School Activity Days are available for Year 1 to Year 6.
We also offer Secondary School Activity Days and College Activity Days.
SSG apply a rotational format to each style of School Activity Day, ensuring all the pupils get the same opportunities to experience all of the activities throughout the day. An activity day typically includes five specially designed activity challenges, where participants get scores for their skills and their attitudes, ensuring to ‘be the best’ also means to ‘be your best’. It is through this focus and philosophy we can encourage the character education aspect of the provision.
All SSG School Activity Day packages are flexible in how they are applied in delivery and we can identify exactly how best to do that through a quick and simple conversation with the school.
All activity days are fully inclusive for all pupils as activities will be adapted for different ages and abilities, including pupils with specific and challenging barriers such as SEND, confidence and weight management issues.

SSG School Activity Days generally run for five hours, starting at 9.30am and concluding at 2.30pm inclusive of breaks. We can offer a degree of flexibility to schools as required to fit around set lunch times etc.

All of the SSG School Activity Days are fully mobile and can be delivered on school sites, saving the school time and money on travelling and reducing the need for trip paperwork to be completed and approved. SSG are registered with and abide by all the ‘Learning Outside the Classroom’ policy guidance, ensuring you can be fully confident in what we do and how we do it.
Alternatively, if you are looking for an experience that includes taking your pupils off the school site we can host you at our activity venue in north Bedford. This wonderful woodland site is fully equipped for all of our activity days and offers an exciting environment for visitors.
