Offering eligible children, young people and families a wide range of exciting opportunity and support throughout the 2021 school Easter holidays and beyond.

The project which will operate throughout Northampton at a range of specifically selected venues, will offer school aged children opportunities in sport, adventure, dance, drama, inflatable fun, creative arts and crafts and active play and access to healthy food and drink while registered on the project.

There will be separate provision for primary and secondary aged children, online virtual sessions and additional workshops for parents/families to access. The provision, funded by Northampton County Council, through the roll out of the Governments national Holiday Activity Fund (HAF) aims to support families who would not/could not usually access such opportunities.

RELOAD FAQ's

Children aged between 5 years and 16 years who are eligible for Free School meals are invited to attend our sessions

Every child attending these sessions will be provided with a healthy and nutritious meal. Primary aged children will be provided with a meal at lunchtime and older children and young people are invited for dinner. Healthy snacks will also be available. All food will be served in compliance with the School Food Standards criteria.

No. Each venue will have a Project Leader who will be trained in child protection and will have passed an Enhanced Disclosure DBS check. We will take your contact details upon booking to ensure we can reach you should a problem arise.

We are looking to use local providers and leaders to deliver these sessions, whilst also tapping into already existing programmes. Every member of staff will hold the required certification and will have stringent COVID safety procedures in place.

Please tell us anything we need to know about your child’s health or needs when you make your booking e.g. diabetes, epilepsy, serious allergies, SEND and so on. In some cases we may need to send you some more forms and get additional information from you about your child’s needs. The more you share with us, the better care we can take of your child.

Please note this on your booking form so we can contact you to discuss this further.

If you are eligible, you can maintain your entitlement to benefits whilst on a traineeship as necessary.

Along with recognition of your learning, there will be support to link you with job opportunities. You can also work a part time job up to 16 hours a week whilst undertaking a Traineeship.

You may get:

  • Expenses for transport and meals from your employer
  • Financial support for travel, childcare or a disability from your training provider
  • Support from your local Jobcentre Plus if you are eligible for work benefits

Access to this scheme is free of charge for those children and young people receiving Free School Meals.

The system is very flexible and (subject to availability) you can book for individual sessions or for the whole week.

For physical activity sessions, comfortable footwear and clothing suitable for moving easily should be worn. Layers are always a good idea eg T-shirt, jumper, thin coat, shorts/trousers and trainers

We advise not wearing new or valuable clothing for art and craft activities as these may become stained or marked.

If we are blessed with some Easter sun, please apply sunscreen before they arrive to their session.
